Members of Best Egg’s Engineering and Enterprise Architecture team partner with key stakeholders, including consumers, marketers, CX researchers, and problem advocates across the enterprise to optimize short- and long-term value streams. The Lead Software Engineer will be accountable for the timeliness and quality of the engineering products produced within their assigned team. It is imperative that the lead Software Engineer I can recognize Minimum Viable Product (MVP) features sets, risks, and dependencies, and recommend iterative delivery packages to maximize business value and minimize time to market.
Additionally, as the leader of a talented team of software engineers, your responsibilities will include overseeing the end-to-end development lifecycle, from ideation to deployment. Collaborating closely with Product Managers and various cross-functional stakeholders, you will wield your expertise to shape and drive the product roadmap.
Internal and External Stakeholder satisfaction will be a component of measuring performance.

REQUIREMENTS: (DEVELOPMENT)

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, mathematics, or equivalent work experience

• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer
• 1+ years of experience as a lead or senior software engineer
• Experience developing and delivering features/capabilities using one or more of the following: Python, Java Enterprise
• Basic understanding of relational or NoSQL databases concepts including query syntax
• Experience in building RESTful applications and shipping via Docker and or Kubernetes; exposure to Helm is a plus.
• Proven track record of working with Product, Design, and other engineering teams to understand the scope of a project and break down work for your team while guiding them through execution
• Capable of innovation, clever problem solving, and high-quality rapid delivery
• Exposure to and understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment concepts
• High self-efficacy, highly motivated, well-organized, capable of developing and executing a sprint plan, and able to communicate status effectively
• Passionate about reducing manual and repetitive work when designing and building tools used by internal colleagues

  $95,000 - $115,000 a year
  In addition to semi-monthly salary payments, this position is also eligible for an annual incentive bonus based on individual and company performance. The yearly incentive bonus target is 20%.
