The Job: The Lead Software Engineer I develops front-end software in support of our Best Egg Financial Health platform’s UI/UX experience. Best Egg Financial Health is a judgement-free, financial safe space where customers share and receive practical insights to understand how the financial decisions they make will impact their access to money. You will work with a highly talented and growing team to revolutionize how customers interact with credit and shape their own financial future by developing data visualizations, forecasting tools and budgeting recommendations based on data science!

REQUIREMENTS-DEVELOPMENT

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, or equivalent work experience.
• 3-5+ years of front-end experience with frameworks like Vue.js (preferred) or Angular.
• Experience consuming RESTful APIs (GraphQL is a plus).
• Experience in developing cloud-native solutions, preferably with Amazon Web Services (AWS) a plus.
• Understanding of Continuous Integration, and Continuous Deployment constructs and procedures.
• Proven ability to create high-level design documents, sample screen images, workflow diagrams, and lead stakeholders through white-board design discussions.
• Proven track record of innovation, clever problem solving, and high-quality rapid delivery

• High self-efficacy, highly motivated, well organized, capable of developing and executing a sprint plan, and able to communicate status effectively
• Passionate about reducing manual and repetitive work when designing and building tools used by internal colleagues

  $78,000 - $124,800 a year
  In addition to semi-monthly salary payments, this position is also eligible for an annual incentive bonus based on individual and company performance. Yearly incentive bonus target 20% of base salary.

• To be considered a good fit, you should have a strong background demonstrating the ability to work with UI/UX design teams implementing features within a web-enabled platform, working with REST API services, and be able to build scalable software components. We are based on AWS so having experience with cloud technologies is a plus but not required.
• Additionally, the Lead Software Engineer will:
• Develop and deliver software iteratively and incrementally
• Perform Unit Test, Integration Tests, and implement supporting testing utilities
• Interpret, confirm, and/or challenge business requirements and document technical requirements
• Explain and discuss the importance of good software design and the pros and cons of best practices such as styling, documentation, refactoring, test-driven design, and pair programming with the broader team
• Lead the development team through continuous improvement activities
• Provide peer/mentor support for Development staff
• Participate in group knowledge sharing as both a consumer and supplier of knowledge
