As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking - Banking and Wealth Management / Data Technology Team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives. Job responsibilities * Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors * Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others * Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes * Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus * Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle * Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies * Adds to the team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills * Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience * Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability * Advanced in one or more programming language(s) and framework(s) (i.e., Java, Spring framework, Kafka Streams, Flink, Data Lake & Low Latency stores) * Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods * Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight * Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle * Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security * Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.) * In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems * Practical cloud native experience Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills * Apache Flink, Kafka and Confluent Cloud * Experience working with Petabyte scale environments and streaming billions of events per day * Advanced knowledge of ReactJS, Angular * Familiarity with test-driven development and unit/UI test frameworks such as Jest, Selenium, Web driver IO, React Testing Library, Mock Service Worker, and Playwright is a plus Chase is a leading financial services firm, helping nearly half of America’s households and small businesses achieve their financial goals through a broad range of financial products.
