As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer Banking, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives. Job responsibilities * Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems * Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others * Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems * Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture * Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies   Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills * 5+ years of middleware software development experience * Deliver system design, application development, testing, and operational stability for production services * Develop software with advanced proficiency in at least one programming language * Implement automation and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices * Execute across all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) * Apply agile engineering practices, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security-focused development * Demonstrate proficiency in a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile) * Apply in-depth knowledge of financial services and common enterprise IT systems * Deliver solutions using practical cloud-native engineering experience * Exposure to AWS with Terraform   Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills * Server-side programming experience (Java; Java plus C/C#/Python acceptable) * Experience designing and developing high-throughput, low-latency solutions for mission-critical 24/7 applications   * Spring experience (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Kafka) * Experience distributing technologies and frameworks (Kafka, Cassandra, Spark, Hadoop) * Experience writing performant SQL and stored procedures (Oracle/Sybase/SQL Server/CockroachDB) * Experience using messaging technologies (Kafka, WebSphere MQ/JMS, RabbitMQ) * Experience building for testability and implement test automation (JUnit/Mockito, Cucumber/Gherkin), and use Git for source control   Chase is a leading financial services firm, helping nearly half of America’s households and small businesses achieve their financial goals through a broad range of financial products.
