Description
This Lead Sonographer role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the ultrasound department while performing diagnostic sonography procedures. This role includes supervising sonography staff, ensuring high-quality imaging, maintaining patient care standards, and ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements. \n Supervision and Leadership: Supervise and mentor ultrasound technologists, ensuring adherence to best practices and high-quality standards. Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for sonography staff. Coordinate staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage for all ultrasound services. Assist in performance evaluations and address any performance-related issues. Patient Care: Perform diagnostic sonographic procedures, including but not limited to obstetric, gynecologic, abdominal exams. Prepare and educate patients about the procedure, addressing any concerns questions to ensure a comfortable experience. Analyze and interpret sonographic images, providing accurate diagnostic information to physicians and healthcare providers. Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Quality Control and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements (e.g., CMRITO standards). Monitor and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality. Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system. Conduct regular quality control checks on equipment and procedures. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with physicians, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnostic information. Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and medical teams to coordinate procedures and care plans. Participate in departmental meetings and collaborate with team members to improve workflow and patient satisfaction. Administrative Duties: Assist with budgeting, ordering supplies, and maintaining inventory levels for ultrasound equipment and materials. Prepare reports and maintain accurate records of departmental performance. Stay current with advancements in sonography technology and techniques by attending training sessions and continuing education programs. Location & Travel: In this role you will be traveling between 3 locations - Brampton, Mississauga and Oakville. \n $40 - $40 an hour $40 an hour \n
