Classification: Full-Time
Shift: Various – must be available weekdays, weekends, holidays, and overnights, especially at this time.
Pay Rate: The pay rate for this role is $32.6032- $43.4709 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
Union Position: This position is part of the Local 6 Union which requires complete open availability. We are not able to accommodate schedule restrictions and full-time hours are not guaranteed. Hours and schedule are based on seniority and business needs and may be minimal at times until seniority is established. You must be comfortable with a schedule and hours that may vary from week to week.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for a Lead Steward who is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and organization, playing a crucial role in supporting the Food and Beverage team in their mission to deliver exceptional service. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, the ability to read and interpret Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), and a passion for hard work. You will ensure that all aspects of back-of-house operations run seamlessly, setting up the team for success and supporting our pursuit of Forbes 5-Star recognition. A genuine commitment to excellence and a desire to contribute to an unforgettable guest experience is essential.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English is essential to interpret BEOs, communicate effectively with the team, and ensure clear understanding of event requirements and operational needs.
  • Must possess a valid Food Handler Card prior to being offered the position.
  • A strong work ethic with a dedication to hard work, consistently ensuring that all tasks are performed to perfection and contribute to flawless service for our guests.
  • Previous experience in stewarding or similar back-of-house roles, with a deep understanding of the standards of cleanliness, organization, and efficiency required to support luxury hotel operations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness, inventory, and the organization of all back-of-house areas, ensuring the team is fully prepared for any service or event.
  • A proactive attitude, able to anticipate operational needs, solve problems swiftly, and adjust to changing circumstances in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly and effectively convey information to team members and collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Commitment to upholding luxury service standards, with a passion for supporting a seamless, flawless guest experience through attention to every detail behind the scenes.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, support, and guide stewarding team ensuring the timely and efficient transportation and cleaning of cooking utensils, service ware, and equipment used for restaurant and banquet service.
  • Oversee the cleaning and maintenance of work areas and physical surroundings, ensuring that all spaces, including kitchen, storage, and service areas, are kept organized, sanitary, and in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels for the food and beverage departments, ensuring all required items and supplies are readily available and in excellent condition to support both restaurant and banquet functions.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of food and equipment to all functions as specified in Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), guaranteeing smooth operations for all events, large or small.
  • Schedule and assign daily tasks for the stewarding team, ensuring all team members are informed, trained, and fully prepared for their responsibilities.
  • Provide ongoing training and development for all stewarding team members, ensuring they are equipped to meet the highest standards of cleanliness, service, and safety.
  • Monitor and evaluate team member performance, offering feedback and coaching to foster continuous improvement and maintain high levels of performance.
  • Collaborate with culinary and front-of-house teams to ensure the smooth execution of all events, from setup through to breakdown, maintaining a seamless operation at all times.
  • Ensure all equipment is in proper working order, conducting routine checks and coordinating necessary repairs or replacements to avoid operational disruption
