​This position is open to current members of the Student Centers Advisory Committee only. Job Title: Student Centers Advisory Committee Lead (Internal applicants only) Tier: 3 Location: Talley Student Union and Witherspoon Student Center Supervision: Reports to the Advisor overseeing the Student Centers Advisory Committee Work Schedule: Three to seven (3 - 7) hours per week including scheduling and conducting meetings, gathering feedback from students, assigning and participating in weekly assigned projects, and reporting to the SCAC advisor Compensation: Minimum starting wage $13.00/hr with opportunity for raises based on years of service within Campus Enterprises. In addition, Student Centers employees are eligible for an end-of-semester bonus up to $200. Student Centers Advisory Committee Mission: The Student Centers Advisory Committee, composed of current NC State students, will provide suggestions, recommendations, and feedback to the NC State Student Centers from a student perspective. Members will serve as advocates for the overall student experience and provide advice and feedback to the NC State Student Centers leadership team regarding daily operations of the Student Centers. Purpose: NC State Student Centers creates memorable experiences for all students, guests and alumni at NC State. In support of the university’s educational mission, we serve as a cornerstone for student growth, learning and involvement through the highest quality service and facilities. Working as a member of the Student Centers Advisory Council, members will gain valuable experience and develop skills that can be transferred to their individual career paths. Essential functions and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Schedule, conduct and actively participate in biweekly SCAC meetings Take notes at biweekly meetings and send follow up emails to SCAC members Record homework for SCAC members and follow up with them to discuss their progress Attend biweekly planning meetings and report the discussions of SCAC committee to the Advisor Serve as advocates for the overall student experience, voices, and opinions Compose suggestions, recommendations, and feedback towards NC State’s Student Centers from a student perspective Help shape decision-making for NC State Student Centers Work on special projects assigned by NC State Student Centers administration Promote Talley Student Union and Witherspoon Student Center on the NC State Student Centers social media accounts Update and maintain the information on the SCAC webpage of the NC State Student Centers website Assist in the recruitment and retention of SCAC members Maintain a high level of professionalism at all times Remain in compliance with NC State Student Centers student employee policies and expectations at all times Essential Qualifications: Current NC State Student Centers Advisory Committee member Current NC State University student with a flexible schedule Demonstrate excellent customer service skills Ability to work with a team to assess the NC State Student Centers operations and to serve a diverse population Aptitude toward group work, collaboration, problem solving and respect Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Demonstrate strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, guide, and motivate a team of students Elevated oral and written communication skills Willingness and ability to support other functions of NC State Student Centers Attend mandatory staff meetings and training sessions Opportunities for Skill Development Working as a member of the NC State Student Centers, students gain valuable experience and develop skills that can be transferred to their individual career paths.
