Primary Duties & Responsibilities The Lead Supervisor plays a critical role in managing and optimizing daily production operations within the Production area. This position is responsible for ensuring that production targets related to output, quality, and delivery are consistently met while maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency. The Lead Supervisor serves as a key liaison between production teams and cross-functional departments, including Engineering, Planning, Quality, and Human Resources. In addition to supervising production operators and line leaders, the Lead Supervisor also manages a team of engineers, driving process improvements, supporting new product introductions, and implementing lean manufacturing initiatives. The role requires strong leadership, analytical thinking, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The Lead Supervisor is also accountable for workforce planning and development, ensuring that the team is well-trained, motivated, and capable of meeting both current and future production demands. This includes identifying training needs, developing skill matrices, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence Education & Experience Typically, 5+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing. 1+ year of managerial/leadership experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical /industrial engineering/ Industrial Management or another engineering specialization with Industrial Management experience. Skills Proficient computer skills, experience with Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Power BI, Email, internet access, and SPC software Monitor daily operation at manufacturing to ensure resource is used efficiently. Working in process improvement, troubleshooting and equipment management Ability to anticipate and handle moderate issues involving internal and priorities under time constraints. Escalate the complex issue to the next level Ability to deal effectively with differences of opinion, to influence, to draw ideas from others, and to negotiate and mediate Open communication and problem-solving skills. Hands-on and very direct approach to problems and needs of production demand. Determines priorities and allocates time and resources effectively Lead cross-functional coordination with Engineering, Planning, and Quality teams to resolve production bottlenecks and implement sustainable solutions Manage and develop a multi-level team including operators, line leaders, and engineers. Analyse production KPIs and operational data to drive strategic decisions. Safety Requirements All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp. Corporate EHS standards.
