Job Description Who will you be working with? You will be working with Supplier Quality Engineering team to ensure and improving the overall quality of supplier manufactured material for assigned commodities and/or areas of the plant. How will you make a difference? You will be responsible for qualifying new suppliers, developing existing suppliers, working with Sourcing to manage and implement supplier/engineering changes, driving resolution of supplier quality problems and corrective actions, and providing technique consultant. What do we want to know about you? Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college. Major in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or Engineering related is desired. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Quality, Sourcing, Manufacturing or Engineering role. Ability to travel to suppliers as appropriate for audits and to address quality issues, approximately 30-50% of time. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrate ability to document, plan, influence and manage programs across cross functional teams Strong ability of English communication (listening, speaking, writing) skills Experience with Engineered Systems (HVAC, Motor, Blower, Heat Exchanger etc.) or electro-mechanization equipment. Experience with PPAP/APQP or similar part qualification processes. Knowledge of ISO, IRIS, AAR or similar standards, quality procedures, and audit techniques. Statistically literate and familiar with Six Sigma quality concepts and tools. What will your typical day look like? Drive supplier selection and part qualification through supplier assessment audits and robust supplier APQP/PPAP qualification processes. Work closely with Sourcing, Engineering and Site manufacturing shops on projects management. Lead containment of supplier quality escapes and root cause analysis of significant supplier quality problems, ensure efficiency of corrective / preventive actions. Closely monitor supplier performance to drive defect reduction, corrective action closure, and other metrics. Provide training to suppliers for related quality functional and project management tools (SPC, 8D, PPAP, PFD, P-FMEA, FAI, control plan, ramp up, Gantt chart, etc.) Drive effective cost recovery from suppliers for COPQ. Own supplier audits, ensuring compliance and driving improvement plans, improvement in processes and standards, supplier capability development, ensuring sustainable improvements.
