Enjoy a supportive, collaborative environment that values trust, ownership, and transparency Make meaningful contributions from day one and help shape how the team grows Responsibilites: Prepare and sterilize all surgical instruments and equipment before, during, and after procedures to ensure a sterile environment Escort patients to the operatory in a timely, professional manner Help patients feel comfortable and informed before, during, and after their treatment, addressing any concerns they may have Assist the oral surgeon during procedures by passing instruments, suctioning, and providing necessary materials as needed Prepare patients for surgery, monitor vital signs, and assist in anesthesia administration to ensure patient safety Verify patient medical history prior to treatment and ensure all necessary changes are made in the records Confirm that the patient fully understands and is educated about the procedure being performed Accurately document patient information, surgical details, and updates into the patient’s electronic health record (EHR) Provide post-operative care instructions to patients and ensure proper follow-up after surgery Collaborate effectively with the surgical team, providing leadership and guidance when necessary Regularly monitor the inventory of clinical supplies and ensure appropriate stock levels Maintain a professional, pleasant, and cooperative demeanor at all times, representing the practice in a positive manner Take X-rays as required or instructed, after reviewing case notes or dental referrals, ensuring quality imaging for accurate diagnoses Assist with the daily and monthly maintenance of sterilization equipment, handpieces, motors, suction systems, traps, and x-ray/sensor units Maintain regular attendance and adhere to assigned work schedules, ensuring consistent coverage for surgical procedures Be prepared to travel between office locations as needed and ensure compliance with insurance requirements for travel Participate in regular continuing education courses to stay current with the latest techniques, tools, and safety protocols in oral surgery Demonstrate forward-thinking skills to anticipate the needs of patients and the surgical team, ensuring procedures run smoothly and efficiently Team members are expected to uphold the culture outlined in the SDB Handbook, with a focus on our core values and any additional responsibilities as defined Requirements Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a Dental Assistant program preferred Maintain necessary certification(s) and renewals as required by state regulations Ensure CPR certification is up to date.
