Job Description

We are looking for talented, curious, and energetic Software Engineers who embrace solving complex challenges on a global scale. As a Visa Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of a cross-functional development team inventing, designing, building, and testing software products that reach a truly global customer base. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• 10+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 7 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 4 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 13+ years of relevant work experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
• Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex, reliable, secure, and scalable software applications using Java and C++.
• Demonstrated history building back-end applications with Java & C++.
• Experienced lead developer skilled in code reviews, promoting software best practices and mentoring junior team members.
• Proficient in designing and maintaining high-performing applications using SQL and NoSQL databases to support high throughput, low latency applications.
• Proven ability to create and use Application Program Interfaces (APIs).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Hands on knowledge of data structures and algorithms.

• Leads the development of enhancements and modifications to existing software as well as the development of code that complies with design specifications and meets security best practices.
• Identifies opportunities for automation to improve effectiveness and efficiencies of systems and tools and supports development and implementation of new automation, analyzing where investment will yield the greatest efficiencies.
• Engages with product engineering teams and product owners across organizations by driving code/design reviews, hosting regular meetings and incident responses throughout product development and operations cycles.
• Leverages back-end technical expertise on underlying systems/platforms across teams and telemetry analyses to propose scalable improvements in code, processes, and designs with an emphasis on customer/business objectives
