Description Direct Report: Aquatic Manager Tacoma Country & Golf Club Overview Tacoma Country & Golf Club is as proud of our past as we are excited about our future. Dating to 1894, Tacoma Country & Golf Club has been occupying this beautiful property on the shores of American Lake for well over a century. TCGC is the oldest established Golf Club West of the Mississippi. Golf is central to the member experience at Tacoma Country & Golf Club. We feature an 18-hole championship golf course that stretches beyond 6,900-yards from the back tees. Accomplished players will love the test they find on our links, while players of all skill levels will find a playable course that is enjoyable round after round. Tacoma Country & Golf Club offers a competition sized swimming pool set on the shores of American Lake complete with locker rooms, a Beach House with kitchen and bar, and beach and lake access with a dock and slide. The pool, beach house, and lake operate for members and their guests from Memorial Day to Labor Day and through September, weather, and lifeguard availability, permitting. Position Summary This position is responsible for working with the Aquatics Manager to lead and manage the Hammerheads Swim Team. The Head Swim Team Coach plans, oversees, and conducts swim team practices and swim meets while creating a positive, safe, and competitive team environment. This role also manages swim meet operations, coordination with club departments, and swim team logistics. This position is an ambassador for The Club and Aquatics Department and will present themselves in such manner as well as holding staff to the same standard. Position Core Duties · Educate participants on rules of the facility and enforce. · Plan, organize, and coach swim team practices and workouts for all assigned age groups. · Prepare swimmers for competition by instructing proper swimming techniques, strokes, race strategies, and sportsmanship. · Coach and supervise swimmers during swim meets. · Organize and manage all aspects of swim meets, including scheduling race participants, recording start times, distributing ribbons, and coordinating volunteers with assistance from Aquatics Manager. · Maintain a visible and active presence during swim team practices, events, and meets. · Work with the Clubhouse Manager to coordinate Food & Beverage needs for swim meets and team events. · Maintain and manage swim team and event equipment. · Order and manage select swimwear and team apparel with assistance from Aquatics Manager. · Communicate effectively with swimmers, parents, and club staff. · Perform other duties related to swim team operations as assigned by the Aquatic Manager. Requirements Candidate Qualifications & Requirements · Working knowledge of aquatics recreation and operation systems · Strong leadership and supervisory skills, problem analysis and decision-making, planning and organizing, adaptability/flexibility and time management. · Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills for working with members, employees, program participants, and guests of members. · Strong written communication and computer skills. · Ability to demonstrate strong work ethic and customer service skills. · Minimum of 2 years lifeguard and/or Swim Instructor/Swim Team Coach experience. · Current Lifeguarding Certification; American Red Cross preferred. · Ability to respond to emergency situations. · Ability to perform duties involving physical labor, such as bending, kneeling, standing, reaching, climbing, stooping, squatting, pushing, and twisting. · Ability to perform strenuous activity with the physical ability to perform job · Able to lift 50+ pounds. · Employment contingent upon passing a criminal background check.
