Description Join Our Team as Lead Systems Administrator! We are seeking an experienced Lead Systems Administrator to join our IT team supporting 100+ employees across our insurance operations. This hands-on role combines system administration with a strong emphasis on end-user support and help desk ticket resolution. You'll be responsible for keeping our infrastructure running smoothly, resolving employee technology issues promptly, and ensuring our team delivers excellent internal service. This role is ideal for a highly hands-on systems professional who enjoys resolving tickets while also leading initiatives and developing toward broader IT operations responsibilities. What You’ll Do Own Help Desk Ticket Resolution: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal support tickets, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication with employees. Drive ticket volume down through proactive fixes and user education. Provide escalated support for complex technical issues. Provide Hands-On End-User Support: Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues for 100+ employees across the organization. Handle onboarding/offboarding of user accounts and equipment. Administer Systems and Networks: Maintain Windows servers, Cisco/FortiGate network devices, and troubleshoot infrastructure and connectivity problems. Support Cloud and Applications: Manage Microsoft 365, Azure, and Vertafore systems for smooth day-to-day operations. Control Access: Oversee Active Directory and Microsoft Entra to manage user accounts, permissions, and group policies. Apply Updates and Patches: Keep systems current for stability and performance through regular patching cycles. Monitor System Health: Track system performance, capacity, and availability to proactively address issues before they impact users. Manage Backups and Recovery: Maintain backup systems and disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuity. Collaborate on Projects: Lead and support technology projects – coordinate planning, implementation, and post-deployment support. Document and Standardize: Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Develop and enforce standard operating procedures for IT processes. Vendor Coordination: Work with technology vendors on support issues, licensing, and procurement. Technical Liaison: Working with company’s third-party cybersecurity provider, assist with implementation of security recommendations, system hardening, and security-related projects across the organization. What You Bring Education and Work Experience: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in Microsoft 365 and Azure administration is preferred. License or Certification Requirements: IT Service Management certified or equivalent experience; ITIL preferred Microsoft certifications preferred (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified) Current Colorado driver's license and acceptable MVR System Administration: Strong ability to manage Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft 365, and Azure. Network Management: Skilled in configuring and maintaining Cisco and FortiGate network devices and troubleshooting connectivity issues. Cloud Infrastructure: Experience administering Azure resources including virtual machines, storage, and identity services. Backup and Disaster Recovery: Familiarity with enterprise backup solutions and business continuity planning. End-User Support: Demonstrated track record of delivering responsive, high-quality help desk support. Comfortable working directly with non-technical staff across all departments. Problem-Solving & Teamwork: Strong ability to resolve complex issues and collaborate effectively within a small, close-knit IT team. Why Join Us? Pay may exceed this range for well-qualified candidates, commensurate with experience. In addition to regular pay, this position is eligible to participate in our annual performance incentive program.
