Description
Now Brewing - Craft the Perfect Blend of Access & Lead with Purpose! #tobeapartner From the beginning, Starbucks set out to be a different kind of company. One that not only celebrated coffee and the rich tradition, but that also brought a feeling of connection. We are known for developing extraordinary leaders who share this passion and are guided by their service to others. As a Lead Systems Analyst focused on Data Access Management within Starbucks' Enterprise Data & Analytics environment, you will lead the strategic transition to Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC) across the Databricks platform. You'll drive the implementation of scalable governance standards and access policies that ensure secure, compliant, and efficient data usage. Partnering with cross-functional teams, you will shape the future of data access by embedding governance into the fabric of our analytics ecosystem—empowering teams while protecting sensitive information. Key Job Responsibilities As a Lead Systems Analyst, you will 1. Lead the Transition to ABAC Across Databricks: Drive the enterprise-wide migration from legacy access models to Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC) within the Unity Catalog environment. Define and implement access patterns, user personas, and metadata tagging strategies to support scalable, secure, and dynamic policy enforcement. 2. Implement Governance Standards and Policy Frameworks: Establish and operationalize governance processes for data classification, policy authoring, and access certification. Collaborate with data owners and platform teams to ensure policies are aligned with business logic, regulatory requirements, and audit readiness. 3. Oversee Technical Integration and Rollout Execution: Manage the end-to-end rollout, including identity mapping, audit logging, and policy testing. Coordinate stakeholder communications, training sessions, and post-launch optimization to ensure adoption and continuous improvement. We'd love to hear from people with: A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field such as computer science, information systems, or data governance. 7+ years of experience in systems analysis, including at least 3 years in a lead or strategic role driving enterprise-level initiatives. Proven expertise in designing and implementing data access control frameworks, with a strong focus on transitioning to ABAC models. Hands-on experience with governance policy development, data classification strategies, and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA). Strong technical proficiency in enterprise data platforms (especially Databricks), system architecture, and scripting languages such as SQL and Python. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage stakeholder alignment, and deliver scalable solutions in complex environments. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into actionable strategies for diverse audiences. A track record of driving innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement in data access and governance practices. Experience with tools such as Unity Catalog, Privacera, Collibra, Purview As a Starbucks partner, you (and your family) will have access to medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, and other voluntary insurance benefits. Partners have access to short-term and long-term disability, paid parental leave, family expansion reimbursement, paid vacation from date of hire*, sick time (accrued at 1 hour for every 25 hours worked), eight paid holidays, and two personal days per year. Starbucks also offers eligible partners participation in a 401(k) retirement plan with employer match, a discounted company stock program (S.I.P. ), Starbucks equity program (Bean Stock), incentivized emergency savings, and financial well-being tools. Additionally, Starbucks offers 100% upfront tuition coverage for a first-time bachelor's degree through Arizona State University's online program via the Starbucks College Achievement Plan, student loan management resources, and access to other educational opportunities. You will also have access to backup care and DACA reimbursement. Starbucks will comply with any applicable state and local laws regarding employee leave benefits, including, but not limited to providing time off pursuant to the Colorado Healthy Families and Workplaces Act, and in accordance with its plans and policies. This list is subject to change depending on collective bargaining in locations where partners have a certified bargaining representative. If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
