Description

THE OPPORTUNITY:

As a Lead Systems Engineer, you will take ownership of the innovation, pursuit, and execution of US Government and DoD technology development in the areas of APNT (Assured Precision Navigation and Time), GNSS Simulation, and Inertial Navigation Systems to bolster Safran Federal Systems, and Safran’s, long term product and sales goals.

Responsibilities
  • Define and manage system requirements and specifications throughout the engineering design process.
  • Leverage a strong technical background enabling interaction with customers’ systems engineers, hardware/electrical/software engineers, and other technical staff members.
  • Provide hands-on technical guidance, support and decision-making authority to project teams throughout the development and deployment phases.
  • Lead system design reviews, technical assessments, and risk analysis activities.
  • Analyze data and use data to verify system requirements and to validate system performance.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide hands-on, data-driven, troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Create and maintain streamlined technical documentation for our customized solutions for future utilization (i.e. manuals and interconnect drawings).
  • Generate cost baselines and work breakdown structures to support internal cost and price reviews.
  • Mentor and strengthen the Systems Engineering discipline through continuous improvement and knowledge transfer activities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory standards Assist with the development of new Government and DoD business, directly with the Government and indirectly through large system integrators through a thorough understanding of the factors that are critical to success of the customer’s mission.
  • Participate in industry working groups related to inertial and GNSS navigation, and simulation.
  • Collaborate on proposals, RFI responses, whitepapers, etc.
  • Present technical material at professional conferences as required.
