Job Title:  Aircraft Fueler Hydrant/Tanker Driver Lead  Department: Fueling  Location: Miami International Airport  Reports to: Fueling Supervisor/ Manager of Stations    Job Summary The Airline Fueling Lead is responsible for overseeing daily aircraft fueling operations to ensure all fueling activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with airline, airport, FAA, and company policies. This role leads fueling agents on shift, coordinates with flight crews and ramp teams, and ensures accurate documentation and on-time performance. Key Responsibilities * Lead and coordinate aircraft fueling and defueling operations for assigned flights * Ensure strict compliance with all safety procedures, environmental regulations, and fueling standards * Conduct pre-fueling safety checks, bonding/grounding procedures, and fuel quality inspections * Communicate fuel requirements clearly with flight crews, dispatch, and ramp personnel * Monitor fuel loads to ensure accuracy per aircraft type and flight plan * Complete and verify all fueling documentation, fuel tickets, and electronic records * Train, mentor, and provide guidance to fueling agents and new hires * Perform on-the-job safety observations and address unsafe acts immediately * Respond to fuel spills, equipment malfunctions, or operational irregularities * Ensure fueling equipment is serviceable and report maintenance needs * Support on-time departures by coordinating fueling timelines with ramp operations * Enforce company policies, attendance standards, and safety culture Safety & Compliance * Adhere to FAA, OSHA, EPA, airport authority, and airline fueling regulations * Ensure proper use of PPE at all times * Participate in safety meetings, audits, and recurrent training * Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free fueling area Qualifications * High school diploma or GED required * Minimum 2–3 years of aircraft fueling experience (commercial airline preferred) * Previous lead or supervisory experience strongly preferred * Knowledge of aircraft fueling procedures and fuel quality control * Valid driver’s license with ability to operate airside vehicles * Must pass airport background check, drug test, and obtain SIDA badge Skills & Competencies * Strong leadership and communication skills * Attention to detail and safety-first mindset * Ability to work under time pressure in a fast-paced environment * Basic computer or handheld device proficiency * Problem-solving and decision-making abilities Physical Requirements * Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions * Must be able to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays Work Environment * Airside ramp environment with exposure to aircraft noise, fuel vapors, and moving equipment * Requires compliance with all ramp safety procedures     PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
