Required Qualifications:

  • Corporate Tax experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Responsibilities

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Tax Analyst to join the Enterprise Customer Tax Utility team within Shared Services Operations. This key position entails serving as a subject matter expert for FATCA and CRS reporting across more than 10 jurisdictions on a global scale.
As the Lead Tax Analyst, you will be responsible for executing tasks that demand specialized knowledge in FATCA and CRS reporting, aligning with the Company’s internal controls policies, ensuring ongoing compliance with tax regulations, and providing detailed income tax technical support for intricate FATCA and CRS reporting issues.
Additionally, you will be pivotal in identifying tax research opportunities, preparing memorandums, and proposing strategies for FATCA and CRS reporting planning and risk management. Your expertise will be essential in upholding compliance and risk management standards in the designated area.

In this role, you will:

  • Perform activities requiring subject matter expertise in all aspects of FATCA and CRS reporting, and the Company’s internal controls policies and ongoing compliance.
  • Understand and comply with tax rules.
  • Provide comprehensive income tax technical expertise in the research of complex issues relating to FATCA and CRS reporting.
  • Apply extensive specialized knowledge and act as internal consultant or final authority relating to FATCA and CRS reporting.
  • Identify opportunities requiring complex tax research, prepare memorandums and make recommendations relating to FATCA and CRS reporting planning and risk reduction strategies.
  • Understand compliance and risk management requirements for supported area.
  • Manage third-party service provider.
  • Direct the work of less experienced staff.
  • Lead implementation of the most complex projects or initiatives impacting multiple lines of business companywide.
  • Develop relationships with business unit leaders and enterprise staff function leaders to support their business needs and objectives and provide consultation and advice on complex FATCA and CRS reporting issues.
  • Interface with external agencies, jurisdictional income tax authorities or industry forums.
  • Work with stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives impacting FATCA and CRS.
  • Maintain all required process flows and ensure desktop procedures are reviewed and updated according to required schedules.
  • Assist the International Customer Tax team on various ad-hoc projects and processes as required.
  • Provide recommendations on additional upstream FATCA and CRS processes as needed.
