JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Lead Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and special education, with a focus on creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment for all students. This role involves overseeing classroom activities, developing curriculum, and providing support to students with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities and developmental challenges.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or EDU119 a related field.
  • Proven experience working with children in a classroom setting, particularly in preschool or daycare environments.
  • Strong understanding of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques.
  • Experience working with individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, or other special needs is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Montessori methods or other innovative educational approaches is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating strong leadership capabilities.
  • Knowledge of literacy education, math instruction, physical education teaching methods, and curriculum development is beneficial. Responsibilities

  • Manage classroom behavior effectively to foster a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with parents, staff, and specialists to create Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students requiring additional support.
  • Utilize learning technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance student engagement and understanding.
  • Conduct assessments, including standardized testing, to monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Provide speech therapy and behavioral therapy as needed to support student development.
  • Facilitate early intervention strategies for children showing signs of developmental delays.
  • Maintain open communication with families regarding their child’s progress and any concerns related to child welfare.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in education.
