The YMCA of Greater Erie is hiring Lead Teachers for our childcare program. If you’re creative, energetic, and passionate about working with children, and if you want weekends free, this role is for you!
Pay: $12.61 - $15.76 per hour

LEAD TEACHER JOB DESCRIPTION

Role Overview: As a Lead Teacher at our childcare center, you’ll support the Child Care Program Director in creating a positive, enriching environment for children. Your role involves supervising, guiding, and serving as a role model. You’ll plan and implement engaging curriculum with the help of an Assistant Teacher, ensuring compliance with regulations and YMCA standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Age: At least 18 years old.
  • Education:
  • Associate Degree in a related field with 30 ECE credits and 2500 hours of experience; or
  • Any unrelated Associate/Bachelor’s Degree with 30 ECE credits and 3750 hours of experience; or
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with 30 ECE credits and 1250 hours of experience; or
  • Master’s Degree in a related field with 30 ECE credits.

Clearances: Pass Pennsylvania state mandated Title 33, Title 34 and FBI background checks, physical exam, and have a negative TB test.

  • Training: Complete a minimum of 6 hours of training annually.
  • Personal Qualities: Passion for working with children, patience, and a love for interactive activities like reading and singing.
