Description JOB SUMMARY: Bright Beginnings is seeking a dedicated Lead Teacher to create a nurturing and engaging classroom environment for children aged 6 weeks through 5 years. A lead teacher is instrumental in implementing classroom activities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment, collaborating with support staff, and promoting the emotional, social, physical, and cognitive development of children. This role requires a patient, caring, and enthusiastic individual who enjoys working with young children and collaborating with a team. Key Responsibilities: Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities Teach and supervise children with personalized instruction Manage classroom organization, structure, and behavior Communicate with families and provide assessment updates Support children’s emotional, physical, and social development Collaborate with staff to maintain a strong team environment Document attendance, behavior, and assessments using Brightwheel Ensure safety by maintaining a hazard-free environment and constant supervision Delegate tasks to assistant and support teachers Follow all policies and licensing requirements Benefits: Competitive pay Professional development Supportive team environment Paid time off and holidays Requirements Qualifications: Must be 21 years of age or older High School Diploma or GED required; early childhood education coursework preferred. Must have minimum of one year of work experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting. Must meet all state licensing requirements including background checks. Strong communication and teamwork skills. CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire). Requirements: Enrollment in WV STARS Career Pathway Complete 15 hours of approved training annually Child abuse and neglect training Ability to actively participate in children’s activities, including sitting on the floor, bending, lifting up to 40 lbs, and moving quickly in case of emergency. Must be able to remain alert and respond to the needs of children consistently.
