Actively recruiting a high school history teacher for the following campus locations. School and employment will begin as soon as possible.

Seffner Campus: Our Seffner campus offers grades 1-12 and enrolls students with specific learning disabilities, speech and language impairments, ADHD, and high functioning autism spectrum disorder. This location offers three high school completion options:

  • 24-credit standard diploma - includes four credits each of Math, ELA, Science, History, and an additional eight elective credits are required for graduation.
  • Modified diploma - includes a modified curriculum for Math, ELA, Science, and History. The activities and curriculum will be “Modified” to maximize a student’s participation. Students will also take elective classes with their peers.
  • Special diploma - the special diploma options offer choices to students with disabilities who are unable to meet the requirements for a standard diploma. The special diploma has benchmarks at three levels: independent, supported, and participatory.

Livingstone Schools, Inc. (LSI) was founded in 2003 as an independent, non-profit, private school that specializes in educating and ministering to the needs of children with unique abilities and their families. Livingstone Academy serves students in grades K-12; providing a continuum of services based on the individual requirements of each student. We provide a positive learning environment for students with Specific Learning Disabilities, Autism, Asperger’s, Speech and Language disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and Cognitive and/or Developmental delays and intellectual disabilities. We are a school for students with learning disabilities.
*We are not a school that is equipped to address the needs of students with mental health, psychiatric, or behavioral disorders such as bipolar disorder, mood disorder, ODD, EBD, and schizophrenia.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • Patience, compassion, and flexibility are a must to help our students with their personal challenges.
  • High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
  • Consistent, reliable, and punctual attendance is essential.
  • Provide a safe and engaging environment for all children in alignment with the school’s employee and student handbooks.
  • Must be available to be on campus during the scheduled work hours.

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS:

Eligible candidates must meet one of the following requirements to teach:
1. Certified Teacher, or
2. A Bachelor’s degree in any field, or
3. A minimum of three years teaching experience is preferred at public or private schools, or
4. Special skills, knowledge, or expertise that allows effective teaching of a curriculum in a specific subject area
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $38,000.00 - $44,000.00 per year
