Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Formal education within Early Childhood Education
  • Early Childhood Certification - ECE Level 2 or 3
  • Minimum 1-year teaching experience
  • Current First Aid Certificate (may be obtained upon hire).
  • Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check, within the past 6 months.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, exhibiting a supportive and positive approach.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, time management, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs., especially when working with infants and toddlers

Responsibilities
  • Support the Lead Teacher in implementing daily routines, feeding, diapering, and naptime
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing classroom aligned with Alberta Child Care Licensing and Accreditation Standards
  • Set up developmentally appropriate provocations and open-ended activities to support early development
  • Observe and document developmental milestones and assist in planning learning experiences
  • Encourage positive social interactions and respect among children
  • Assist with classroom setup, cleaning, and ensuring materials are safe and accessible
  • Foster communication with families and contribute to a collaborative teaching team
