New Connections Academy (NCA) is seeking a Lead Teacher for our upcoming 2025-2026 school year. This position is unique as the Lead Teacher will not have a designated case load or classroom, but rather, will act as a direct support across the school’s educational team by increasing coaching of teaching strategies and skills, implementing evidence based tools to collect data to drive instruction, organize assessment and state testing, and support in specific additional ways as indicated below. This role will act as a liaison between our teachers & program assistants with our administration, and will partner closely with our building principal.
Qualifications: LBS1 certification
Experience: At least 3 years of teaching experience
Skills: Organizational & planning skills are a must, ability to lead trainings and partner with educational staff, demeanor (attitude and dress) reflect that of leadership, positive and productive attitude, understanding of special education ethics and law a plus

GRADING PERIODS/TRANSCRIPTS/GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Create and update all report card/progress report forms for teachers
  • Train new staff on all forms and procedures for grading periods
  • Partner with principal to create and distribute yearly grading schedule
  • Send reminder emails to staff regarding grading period due dates
  • Proofread and make corrections to all of the teacher’s final copies of grading forms before mailing/sending to families and districts
  • Work closely with principal, teachers and partner districts to complete credit audits
  • Support teachers in completing credit reviews & documentation

  • Inventory and organize current curriculum across the building

  • Partner with administrative assistant to create PowerSchool accounts and access for all new staff
  • Create and manage schedules for all teachers including course codes and caseloads on PowerTeacher
  • Complete beginning/end of year processes as needed
  • Ensure grading periods are updated and accurate
  • Monitor PowerTeacher for prompt grading practices across building
  • Problem solve all questions as needed across the building for educational and clinical staff
  • Goal Tracking
  • Create schoolwide template to be used for goal tracking and data collection
  • Monitor goal tracking with teachers and partner to answer questions
  • Conduct training sessions for new teachers and therapists each school year
  • Support teachers in bringing goal data to each IEP meeting
  • Create way to archive previous goal collection data for students
