The right candidate for this position will possess the skills and knowledge for planning and implementation of coordinated educational, physical, and social activities of a group of children, primarily of the Pre School age group. Provide personal care and assistance to children with special needs or disabilities. Aid in the direction and supervision of assigned classroom staff. Prepare lesson plans and meet with families in a structured setting for feedback and guidance in accordance with Ohio Step Up to Quality and Headstart guidelines.
For 64 years, United Rehabilitation Services (URS) has provided a comprehensive continuum of services to meet the needs of children, adults and seniors with developmental and acquired disabilities throughout the Greater Dayton Region.
URS has the region’s only fully-inclusive Early Childhood Education Center serving typically-developing children and those with special needs. On-site nurses and therapies are available to support the children and adults we serve throughout the day. As a CARF accredited organization and a 5 Star rated program under Ohio Step Up to Quality, URS offers the highest quality of care for all children and adults of all abilities.
URS’ wide-array of programs include: Adult Day Services, Vocational Habilitation, Senior Care, Infant, Toddler, Preschool and School-Age Programs. Our on-site Therapy Center offers outpatient services in Physical, Occupational, Speech and Aquatic therapies and Augmentative Communications.
URS offers community-based Employment Services, including Transition Youth (Pre-ETS) and Project Search Programs to six counties in SW Ohio.

Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education or closely related field, Infant/Toddler facility based child care experience with children with disabilities or special needs required. 2-4 years of supervisory/management experience is preferred. SUTQ Career Pathways Level 4 is also preferred. Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds, a valid Ohio drivers license and an acceptable driving record, collaborate with outside partners, be a team player and have good oral, written, interpersonal and electronic communication skills. Certification in CPR, First Aid, Child Abuse Training and Communicable Disease required
