Job Details Level: Experienced Job Location: YMCA at 901 - Boca Raton, FL 33487 Position Type: Full-Time/Part-Time JOB SUMMARY Under the direction of the Director of Child Development and in accordance with the general policies, goals and standards established by the YMCA of South Palm Beach County, the Lead Teacher is responsible for implementing the Creative Curriculum, with aspects of the Reggio Emilia curriculum philosophy, while providing a nurturing, well supervised and safe indoor and outdoor environment for preschool children. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor or Associate degree from an accredited college/university or a current FCCPC/ECPC Mandatory 40-hour DCF courses, Early Literacy and Fire Extinguisher training First Aid/CPR certification Ongoing continuing education 24 hours of in-service required annually QUALIFICATIONS ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with children, Director of Child Development, coworkers and parents Efficient planning and organizational skills to facilitate learning through play as well as structured curriculum Physical ability to implement lesson plans with focus on readiness skills in subject areas such as Social/Emotional, Language, Literacy, Art, Math, Science, Social Studies, Physical Development, etc... Follow licensing and program guidelines Knowledge of Teaching Strategies Smart Teach and myKidzDay app (preferred) Commitment to the mission and goals of the YMCA of South Palm Beach Any other duty as deemed necessary by the Director of Child Development YMCA COMPETENCIES: Mission and Community Oriented: Accept and demonstrate YMCA values.
