Job Description Snowdrop is a powerful game engine that enables Ubisoft content creators to set their creative minds free. Fast and flexible, Snowdrop gives developers innovative tools designed from the ground up for creating the unknown. Snowdrop provides the perfect canvas for game developers to paint the games of the future. As a Lead Technical Artist at Massive, you'll mentor, supervise, and motivate a team of Technical Artists on Snowdrop that are creating some of the most advanced content seen in video games. Once onboarded you'll drive Tech Art decisions and set our in-house standards. You'll collaborate with other Leads, Producers, and multidisciplinary developers across AAA productions to build and deliver core systems in our game engine and its ecosystem. We're offering a permanent position in Malmö, Sweden, with the flexibility to work partially from home (up to two days a week) under our Flexible Workplace Policy. What you'll do Leading, mentoring, supervising, and supporting a senior team of Technical Artists; Investigating, enhancing, and monitoring our Tech Art & Animation pipeline; Be the in-house Snowdrop Tech Art expert, advising on performance and optimization to various stakeholders across production. Qualifications What you'll bring You enjoy finding innovative solutions to existing game art and technical/graphical obstacles. You are a motivated and team-oriented Lead, dedicated to the craft of Technical Art. Your experience within large productions and from leading a team allows you to solve problems on the job and organize an effective workflow. You have excellent communication skills in English (our company language) which with your emphatic nature enables you to build trust with your team and the various stakeholders you’ll collaborate with along the way. Besides the above we’re looking for someone aligned with our core values and the following skills and experience: Experience profiling, evaluating & optimizing console/PC performance; Several years experience as a Tech Artist on AAA productions focused on DCC Tools Development; Command of various DCC tools (e.g. Photoshop, Maya, 3DSMAX, Substance); Experience with node-based visual scripting game engines (e.g. Snowdrop, Unreal, Unity); Knowledge of Python and HLSL languages; Previous experience leading a major/AAA game production team through to release is a bonus.
