Description

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Lead Technical Sales & Product Estimator to join and guide our inside sales team. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the quality and efficiency of all estimating activities, ensuring accurate and timely quotations for precast concrete solutions across a wide range of project sizes and complexities.
You will lead by example, motivating and inspiring the Technical Sales Team to perform at their best, while fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. This role includes mentoring, coaching, and training team members, distributing workload, and driving process improvements across Sales and other departments. While there are no direct reports, you will play a key role in team development and operational excellence.

Professional Experience & Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or equivalent technical education/work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of estimating experience in the construction or precast industry.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to estimate all product types, including large-scale and highly complex projects.
  • Strong experience in blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings.
  • Advanced mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SAP, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with precast manufacturing processes (concrete, rebar, steel) is an asset

Responsibilities
  • Lead and support the Technical Sales Team in delivering accurate, cost-effective estimates for all product types, including large and complex projects.
  • Oversee the quality of estimates across the team, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Analyze contract drawings and specifications to estimate materials and labour for precast concrete projects.
  • Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for standard and custom products.
  • Generate written and verbal quotations based on technical evaluations and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with customers to clarify project needs and provide technical guidance.
  • Use CAD drawings, sketches, and product imagery to communicate solutions and support quotations.
  • Calculate pricing structures and submit competitive bids to contractors and consultants.
  • Track tender outcomes and follow up on opportunities to enhance sales performance.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure accurate order processing and project execution.
  • Identify and correct estimating timelines and distribute workload to meet deadlines.
  • Support Outside Sales Representatives with estimating and quoting assistance.
  • Maintain compliance with internal quality systems and procedures.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives within Sales and across departments.
  • Continuously develop and update procedures and Best Practice documents.
  • Train, mentor, and coach members of the Sales Team and other departments.
  • Participate in industry events to strengthen client relationships and promote AE Concrete’s brand.
