Lead Technician (Lead Hand) Position Summary: Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8 AM-4:30 PM; potential to transition to 12-hour shifts in the future This position is 100% on-site The newly launched manufacturing facility on Adair Blvd marks a pivotal expansion of Catalent’s Zydis® technology, a globally renowned, fast-dissolve oral dosage form that has transformed the lives of millions of patients worldwide. At Adair, you’ll play a vital role in the startup of a site built for innovation and excellence, from installation and qualification to regulatory approval and commercial manufacturing. The Lead Technician is responsible for running production equipment while coordinating daily line activities to maintain flow, quality, and performance. The Lead Technician works closely to the Production Supervisor to help keep the team focused, skilled, and compliant. The Role Operate equipment safely and effectively in one or more key areas (e.g. Dispensing & Mixing, Form-Fill, Freeze Drying, Sealing, Inspection) Support the Supervisor by coordinating line activities and maintaining production flow Minimize downtime and support changeovers to reduce turnaround time Provide clear shift handovers and communicate line performance or issues Support training of new and existing team members during operations Ensure all entries in the Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR’s) are completed clearly, accurately, and in real time. Lead by example and support others in meeting this expectation so documentation can be reviewed and approved without delays Perform regular in-process checks, line clearances, and documentation reviews during production to maintain compliance with Good Documentation Practice (GDP) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) Always follow safety procedures, wear the correct PPE, and work in a way that protects yourself and others Perform other duties as required. The Candidate High School Diploma, GED/CAEC and/or educational credential assessment (ECA) is required. Additional technical or manufacturing education is an asset. 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Experience operating machinery and working in regulated environments. Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience on the line Currently Catalent does not participate in the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) Candidates with non-Canadian credentials must provide an evaluation confirming the Canadian equivalency of the credentials as determined by the Alliance of Credential Evaluation Services of Canada (ACESC) such as WES. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform routine physical movements such as walking, bending, reaching, and operating equipment throughout the shift. Able to lift items up to 20kg or 44 lbs independently, using proper lifting techniques or seeking assistance for anything heavier. This is a shift-based role requiring flexibility and collaboration within a team-focused setting This role is required is to be clean shaven to wear a respirator, which is deemed mandatory to meet Health & Safety requirements.
