JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Technician to join our dynamic audiovisual (AV) company. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in executing advanced AV installations, mentoring junior technicians, and ensuring the successful delivery of complex AV projects. This individual must work independently, possess strong technical skills, and demonstrate leadership capabilities to achieve project goals in alignment with AVIXA and ITIL best practices. This role requires technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to manage projects on site from start to finish while ensuring customer satisfaction. This role is based out of the Sherwood Park office.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • 2-5 years of experience in the audiovisual industry, with at least 2 years in a field services role.
  • Relevant certifications such as AVIXA CTS, CTS-I, CTS-D, or manufacturer-specific training preferred.
  • Proficiency in installing and servicing AV systems, including video conferencing solutions, control systems (Crestron, AMX, Extron), audio systems, and structured cabling.
  • Proven ability to mentor and support technical teams.
  • Proficiency in reading architectural and structural drawing sets.
  • Excellent problem-solving and complex troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong client-facing communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of safety standards and quality assurance processes.
  • Commitment to continual improvement.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work on ladders, and perform tasks at height or in crawl spaces.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites as required.
