The Lead Technician - Training, Research, and Documentation shall serve as the Technical Team Leader. The Lead Technician - Training, Research, and Documentation coordinates the Technical Team’s workload and provides daily guidance and direction. The Lead Technician - Training, Research, and Documentation coordinates work product with the Development Team Leader and Project Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the MAT Project Director in briefings and demonstrations of the program across the Department of Defense.
  • Responsible for documentation research activities for sustainment and enhancement of the user interface and support issuing and set-up of equipment and training activities for the program.
  • Provide general logistics support in sustainment, provide knowledge of military systems associated with the sustainment of equipment, and provide technical data support.
  • Participate in the basic concept, design, and testing of the software user interface and advise on how that impacts current, new, or modified equipment and processes used by unit personnel to ensure optimal sustainment support.
  • Meet with contractors, users, and maintainers to assist the MAT team with overall IT equipment support concerns and recommend sustainment plans for the creation, update, modification, and sustainment of training documentation (publications, videos, Mil Suite page, etc.).
  • Provide review and analysis of equipment-specific data for life cycle management decisions.
  • Aid with documenting the management end items, spares, repair parts, and supplies to meet unit and equipment requirements.
  • Review, validate, analyze, update, and when necessary to ensure optimal sustainment support, develop draft procedures for publications, like Training Plans, Training Videos, Pamphlets, Operations Manuals, Maintenance Manuals, Modification Instructions, Technical, and other Special Instructions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required and 10+ years of experience OR
  • Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of experience working with, leading personnel, sustaining and supporting military equipment like aerial delivery, organizational clothing, chemical/biological equipment, weapons, and other soldier-related items.
  • This position requires CUI access (ADP-III, IT-3, Tier 1investigation) and general user network permissions.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • The work site for the Lead Technician: Training, Research and Documentation will be conducted primarily in a teleworked/remote environment; however, they must reside in the normal commuting area of Ft. Gregg-Adams, VA (formerly Ft. Lee) or Ft. Liberty, NC (formerly Ft. Bragg) due to hands-on mission support requirements.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation software (MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Strong coordination, organization, teaming, and communication skills.
  • Must have good organizational, scheduling, and prioritization skills and the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, ethics, and integrity.
  • Ability to interact with co-workers to develop a team environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and time constraints.
