Jobs in this group are typically responsible for managing and operating laboratory facilities used for research, teaching, or to assist in the diagnosis, treatment and/or prevention of disease. They ensure equipment maintenance, adhere to safety protocols, and support quality control. These roles focus on performing a range of operational activities in support of laboratory testing, including managing lab equipment, ensuring proper safety protocols, and supporting research and experiments. Responsible for maintaining lab functionality and efficiency. Individual contributors with responsibility in a clinical discipline or specialty. Typically involves diagnosing, treating, and caring for patients, and often include face-to-face interactions with patients. May also spend some time designing and implementing clinical programs, policies, and services using specialized knowledge and skills. Specialty license or certification required which is acquired through advanced education, training and/or experience. This career stream will be most commonly applied to patient care and/or scientific/laboratory technologist jobs. ​ Requires broad knowledge of operational procedures and tools obtained through extensive work experience and require vocational or technical education. ​ Works under limited supervision for routine situations. ​ Provides assistance and/or may lead and training to lower-level employees. ​ Problems typically are not routine and require analysis to understand. ​ May lead daily operation activities.​ MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Bachelor’s Degree with completion of a NAACLS approved MLS/CLS program; Bachelor’s in Biology/Chemistry or related science Experience: Bachelor’s Degree with completion of a NAACLS approved MLS/CLS program – 3 years of relevant experience; Bachelor’s in Biology/Chemistry or related science - 5 years relevant experience Licensure: MT or categorical, ASCP or equivalent required PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires sitting for prolonged periods; Repetitive motion: typing. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull less than 20lbs. May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease. The starting base rate for this role is $36.56 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
