TO BE A CONTRIBUTING MEMBER OF THIS TEAM, YOU WILL HAVE A MIX OF THESE SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer graphics, fine arts, design or photography or a related technical field.
  • At least 5 years production experience in visual effects for film, commercials or television in a senior role.
  • Demo reel and portfolio illustrating knowledge and experience in producing high quality, photorealistic textures.
  • High Attention to detail
  • Ability to learn quickly and assimilate new information
  • Good interpersonal and organisational skills, and a strong team player.
  • Expert knowledge in Mari. Proficient in Maya, Zbrush, Photoshop, Katana, Substance and UV unwrapping tools. Houdini and scripting knowledge are a plus.
  • Ability to navigate complex Computer Graphics pipelines

Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE?

The Lead Texture Artist is responsible for creating high quality textures, providing creative solutions that fulfills the artistic and technical brief of the asset, while providing guidance to others on the texture team.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

  • Work independently and with the production team (VFX Supervisor, CG Supervisor, Texture Supervisor) and other departments at an advanced level to execute the desired look of complicated CG assets, including complex creatures and/or hard surface models and environments.
  • Sets up and suggests asset workflows, per asset needs.
  • In absence of Texture Supervisor, assumes leadership role over Texture team and liaise with production team on schedules and bids.
  • Participates as a team member in determining various design solutions; provides feedback to other members of the team by attending dailies on a regular basis.
  • Mentors Artists of all levels within the Department where required. Maintains or exceeds consistent level of productivity and produces high quality work in a timely manner.
