Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a Lead Tutor, you’ll be part of our Middle Management Team, guiding curriculum design and delivery across pastoral, teaching, and learning areas. You’ll work collaboratively with other Lead Tutors and school leadership to create impactful, project-based learning opportunities, driving student engagement and academic success in an all-outdoor learning environment.

KEY SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Curriculum Leadership: Design engaging, individualized learning experiences across subjects, including Literacy, Numeracy, STEM, and Forest Skills.
  • Teaching Excellence: Monitor and enhance teaching quality, ensuring high standards in all curriculum areas.
  • Pastoral and Crisis Support: Serve as the main point of contact for daily concerns and offer direct support in crisis situations.
  • Student Progression: Track individual learning pathways, align support to EHCP goals, and foster reading development through the Accelerated Reader Program.
  • Communication and Reporting: Engage with families to support home learning, write detailed student reports, and collaborate on Individual Behaviour Support Plans.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with colleagues and specialists to ensure holistic student support, including access to additional services.
  • Safeguarding and Compliance: Act as the Designated Deputy Safeguarding Lead for your group, upholding a safe and positive environment.
  • Professional Development: Lead and participate in CPD, critical reflection, and team-building to support continuous improvement.
    A DBS will be required for this role.
