Proudly veterinarian-owned and operated, we offer our clients a personalized, small-town experience while providing high-quality veterinary care. POSITION OVERVIEW
We are currently seeking a highly motivated Lead Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) with a minimum of 3 years’ experience to join our team. This hybrid role combines traditional RVT responsibilities with select practice management duties. The ideal candidate will be passionate about animal care and enthusiastic about improving clinic efficiency, staff workflow, and client experience.
QUALIFICATIONS AND QUALITIES:
· Must have RVT certification in good standing
· Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in a clinical setting
· Strong knowledge of lab procedures, anesthesia, and surgical protocols
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Comfortable taking initiative and working independently
· Compassionate and client-focused attitude
· Experience in or interest in leadership/management is highly valued

RVT RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
· Assist the veterinarian during examinations and surgeries
· Perform dental cleanings and radiographs
· Administer and monitor anesthesia, including patient recovery
· Conduct routine lab tests (blood work, fecal, urinalysis)
· Collect and process diagnostic samples
· Prepare and open medical records prior to vet exams
· Maintain accurate patient records and logs
· Provide follow-up communications with clients
· Educate pet owners on wellness, nutrition, and preventive care
· Perform reception duties as needed: invoicing, client check-outs, end-of-day procedures, answer phones, schedule appointments
· Ensure a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment
PRACTICE MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
· Track employee sick time and vacation days in accordance with clinic policy
· Mediate staff concerns and collaborate with the owner for resolutions
· Assist with scheduling to ensure optimal staffing and service coverage
· Identify workflow improvements and support more effective staff utilization
· Manage inventory of medical supplies and liaise with suppliers and Reps
· Implement pricing adjustments as needed
· Assist in developing SOPs in line with CVO standards to boost efficiency
· Identify opportunities for financial improvement and clinic growth
