Benefits: Employee discounts Paid time off Flexible schedule Position Title: Lead Yoga Teacher Location: YogaSix Downers Grove Reports To: Studio Manager Position Summary The Lead Yoga Teacher is responsible for upholding the quality, consistency, and culture of the YogaSix instructor team. This role serves as a mentor, coach, and leader by supporting instructor development, maintaining teaching standards, and creating an exceptional member experience. In partnership with the Studio Manager, the Lead Teacher helps recruit, onboard, train, evaluate, and retain top-tier instructors while fostering a collaborative and positive studio environment. Leadership & Team Development Lead by example through professional, energetic, and inspiring instruction. Mentor new and existing teachers through coaching, feedback, and ongoing support. Assist with instructor onboarding and integration into the YogaSix teaching methodology. Conduct or assist with class observations and provide constructive performance feedback. Help identify development opportunities and recommend continuing education. Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive teaching culture. Class Quality & Education Ensure all classes meet YogaSix brand standards for programming, sequencing, safety, and member experience. Maintain consistency across all YogaSix class formats. Support implementation of new programming, education initiatives, and teaching updates. Assist with instructor evaluations and quality assurance. Studio Operations Teach a regular schedule of YogaSix classes. Help maintain adequate instructor coverage by assisting with substitutions when needed. Communicate instructor concerns, scheduling challenges, and member feedback to studio leadership. Participate in instructor meetings, workshops, and studio events. Support special events, community classes, and teacher trainings. Member Experience Build strong relationships with members and create a welcoming environment. Encourage member engagement, retention, and community building. Address member concerns professionally and escalate when appropriate. Model exceptional customer service both in and outside the classroom. Qualifications 200-hour Yoga Teacher Certification (RYT-200) from a recognized training program. 500-hour Yoga Teacher Certification (RYT-500) preferred. Current CPR/AED certification. Minimum 2 years of teaching experience preferred. Demonstrated excellence in teaching multiple YogaSix class formats. Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills. Positive attitude with the ability to motivate and inspire others. Availability to teach a consistent weekly schedule, including some evenings and weekends. Preferred Skills Experience mentoring or training instructors. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to provide constructive coaching with professionalism and empathy. Comfortable leading meetings, workshops, and continuing education sessions. Passion for developing people and growing studio culture. Physical Requirements Ability to demonstrate yoga poses and movements safely. Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move throughout classes. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed.
