Description
Lead Staff (shift leads) are members of a care-team responsible for leading and maintaining a safe, supervised, and structured living environment for adolescent residents that is conducive to their well-being. Lead Staff assess group dynamics and resident needs and promote improved social, developmental, educational, and physical functioning of group home residents. The ability to understand the perspective of others is critical and staff must truly care about the success of youth. This position requires weekend and holiday hours on a rotating schedule.    You will work alongside residents to support achievement of treatment goals through engagement in healthy and productive daily activities through the following tasks:  * Lead scheduled shift activities and ensure programming schedules are followed.   * Maintain a safe, supervised, and structured living environment for our adolescent clients * Supervise youth and knowing their whereabouts at all times * Facilitate crisis counseling, conflict resolution, and problem solving with and for clients * Incorporate client treatment objectives into the individual care of residents * Transport and supervise clients at designated activities and appointments * Follow program policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state licensing requirements  * Accurately complete and review shift documentation * Train new hires following the defined training program  * Additional duties as assigned As a Lead Staff Member, you will enjoy these benefits:  * Initial and continuous training * Paid time off  * $1/hr weekend shift differential pay * Full benefit package including medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurances  * Retirement planning with employer match  * Free employee assistance program * Rotating schedule with every other weekend off  * Full-time employees are eligible to apply for the Public Service Student Loan Forgiveness Program [https://studentaid.gov/manage-loans/forgiveness-cancellation/public-service] * Eligible for a performance-based pay increase at 6 months and 1 year during the first year of employment, and then annually thereafter   Your schedule will include:  * Nine-hour shifts on a rotating schedule * Shifts scheduled every other weekend are required. * Shifts are typically scheduled within the timeframe of 6am and 6pm.  * Holiday rotation is required.   Some of the skills and experience we are looking for from you: * Bachelor’s degree in a human/social services related field preferred but not required * Previous experience working with a youth population in a residential setting is preferred but not required * At least 21 years of age * Hold a valid driver’s license * Must be caring and resilient    This job is ideal for someone with experience: * Caregiving * Working in schools or childcare * Working in law enforcement or corrections * Working at youth camps  * Volunteering in a helping role
