Innisfail is the largest business centre on the Cassowary Coast in Far North Queensland with a population of approximately 10,000. The picturesque township is situated at the junction of the North and South Johnstone Rivers, about five km from the coast and 90km south of Cairns which services a domestic and international airport. GCP is the largest Primary School in the Innisfail District with a current cohort of 350 students. The school has two streams for each year level from Prep to Year 6. This role requires an expert practitioner of instructional coaching - modelling effective practice, observing classroom teachers, and providing targeted, growth-oriented feedback that builds the capability of all staff. Through strong relational trust, the LLT develops individuals and teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement aligned to a clear and compelling vision for student learning. Highly organised and purposeful, the LLT coordinates professional learning, supports coherent school-wide practices, and ensures momentum in key improvement priorities. The role also extends beyond the school, working in collaboration with external experts and consultants, and contributing to broader professional dialogue by sharing and amplifying the school's work.
