Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a banking professional focused on shaping and delivering a robust testing framework within the Conduct, Sustainability, and Regulatory Risk domains. You will implement and coordinate 1st Line of Defence controls testing across Danske Bank’s three business units, focusing on key controls related to conduct, sustainability, and regulatory risks. Collaborating with other Financial and Non-Financial risk controls testing teams is essential for agreeing on a comprehensive testing plan. You will assess the design and operating effectiveness of controls, ensuring they meet standards and deliver fair outcomes for our customers. Your findings will be reported to control owners, and you will work with business representatives to address control weaknesses effectively.

As the Leader of Regulatory Risk Testing, you will identify and incorporate key controls into our yearly Book-of-Testing (BOT) and enhance testing activities. Your work ensures our control processes are robust and effective, supporting the bank’s obligation to regulatory compliance and risk management.

  • Identify key controls from inputs by regulators, Business Units, and Risk partners for inclusion in a yearly BOT.
  • Review and enhance regular testing activities, including improving governing documents and methodology.
  • Collaborate with other Testing teams and Risk Partner teams for control uplift and gap assessments.
  • Ensure widespread use of control taxonomy within our function and reporting.

To be effective in this role, you should have substantial knowledge and experience in conduct, sustainability, and regulatory risk categories, supported by a relevant university degree or similar educational background. You may be an experienced risk professional from the finance industry or have been involved in governance, regulatory, or legal processes within banking. Your understanding of financial products and processes, combined with risk management principles, will align our objectives with business needs.

  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in non-financial risk, focusing on conduct, sustainability, and regulatory risk.
  • In-depth business understanding and documented leadership experience, with an emphasis on purposeful leadership.
  • Capable communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, along with gravitas and influencing abilities.
  • Flexibility, initiative, and a growth mindset, with decision-making capability in a fast-paced environment
