Partner with the best The Data Privacy Counsel is responsible for supporting the effective implementation of the Baker Hughes global data privacy program within the Industrial & Energy Technology (IET) Segment. The Data Privacy Counsel provides legal support to regional and global business functions on all aspects of privacy regulatory compliance with a particular focus on IET Segment. The Data Privacy Counsel provides legal advice on global and local privacy compliance policies, procedures and processes. The Data Privacy Counsel provide also advice on Ciber Security matters and laws. The Data Privacy & CyberSecurity Counsel also guide on compliance with emerging AI regulations (EU AI Act, U.S. GenAI state laws). Fuel your passion As a Senior Counsel - Compliance & Regulatory you will be responsible for: Advise on global privacy and cybersecurity laws (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, HIPAA, LGPD, etc.) Serve as subject-matter expert for IET internal teams on privacy/security issues. This includes review of Customer and Vendors agreements, Sourcing and Commercial support Provide guidance on compliance with emerging AI regulations (EU AI Act, U.S. GenAI state laws) Manage and support incident response from a privacy perspective (including Data Loss Prevention - DLPs) in collaboration with BH Data Privacy team Manage IET data privacy aspects of Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) and support data owners with responding to DSARs in collaboration with BH Data Privacy team Support IET Data Transfer Impact Assessments for cross-border personal data transfers in collaboration with BH Data Privacy team Conduct IET Privacy Impact Assessments as required in collaboration with BH Data Privacy team Support IET, Regions and relevant Functions with the effective implementation of the BH Data Privacy Program In collaboration with BH DP team deliver privacy compliance training to IET functions & businesses Support data privacy & cybersecurity audits (both internal and external audits) Monitor data privacy, Cyber security and AI regulatory developments Collaborate with IET and BH CyberSecurity team Support the review and update of privacy, cybersecurity and AI policies and procedures Participate in Baker Huges Practice Groups like Digital and Artificial Intelligence To be successful in this role you will: Possess law degree from an accredited university or law school Have been admitted to a European or US Bar A minimum of 4 – 7 years law practice in data privacy, cybersecurity related roles either in private practice or in-house. Strong legal knowledge in the area of data privacy laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other Data Privacy Laws like, CCPA etc. as well as Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security Provide excellent work products also under time constraints Be a team player and collaborative combined with strong interpersonal skills Project management skills and preferrably experience in the energy industry Strong oral and written communication skills Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems Experience with using OneTrust (or a similar data privacy management platform) Demonstrated ability to handle substantive assignments, handle a heavy docket and change focus with shifting priorities Knowledge of legal terminology and processes Work in a way that works for you We recognize that everyone is different and that the way in which people want to work and deliver at their best is different for everyone too.
