JOB SUMMARY

The Leadership Capability Team’s key objective is to produce a compelling leadership offer to support the DWP strategic priorities. Particularly promoting team learning and leadership development where leaders coach, inspire and empower our people to deliver.
We are creating a Leadership Development Offer which will increase accessibility for all grades to enable them to develop core skills, provide talent development, and build personal and professional leadership behaviours. We are growing our community of leadership coaches so we can build leadership capability in a sustainable way.
We are seeking people who are flexible, with a passion for building capability at an organisation level, supporting individual learning and talent programmes, and supporting and leading others to ensure our Directorate continues to be a key enabler in maintaining the overall DWP Capability to deliver excellent service to the public.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a team that supports all colleagues to become great leaders and create a local working culture that will enable us to deliver our public services, and a team that:

  • Demonstrates and role models changes in behaviour and culture that DWP require to support its transformation.

Your personal qualities are as important as your professional background and development. You will be curious to understand why things happen, innovative, and able to identify and connect links and dependencies. Big picture thinking and comfort with ambiguity is as important as attention to detail. You will be passionate about making work engaging and meaningful for yourself, people around you and for the organisation as a whole.
This role will see you predominantly working within our Leadership Design discipline; however, the role will be flexible and may involve working within other areas of the Leadership Capability Team. This will support the team’s critical business priorities and the broader DWP capability agenda.
