We are looking for a Leading Finance Specialist, Permanent Establishments to strengthen our global governance of non-Danish branches and permanent establishments. In this role, you will develop and maintain a robust framework to ensure compliance with financial and legal requirements worldwide.
You will work closely with colleagues across our global business and be an integral part of our finance organisation, which consists of approximately 250 employees forming the financial backbone of COWI.Reporting to the Head of Group Reporting, you will collaborate closely with Group Tax and the finance business partners supporting our Danish operations. This position offers flexible working arrangements from our Lyngby or Aarhus offices.
Partnering with specialists in Group Legal, Finance, and HR Mobility, you will act as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders, ensuring effective governance structures and compliance for COWI’s international operations. Your efforts will help streamline financial and legal processes while fostering strong partnerships across the organisation. With your finance expertise, you will quickly gain insight into the mechanics of COWI’s business and build a powerful network that creates tangible impact.

On top of that you have,

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in finance, business, accounting, or a related field.
  • Proven expertise in stakeholder management, structured problem-solving, and cross-team collaboration.
  • Strong financial background preferably with hands-on experience in financial reporting and navigating international business challenges related to legal, tax, and cross-border employee matters.
  • Results-driven with excellent prioritisation skills and adaptability for continuous growth.
  • Experience within the engineering or consultancy industry is a plus.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain governance structures to ensure compliance across accounting, tax, legal, and cross-border operations for non-Danish branches.
  • Provide guidance and support to the Lithuania accounting team, ensuring accurate and efficient handling of daily transactions.
  • Stay up to date with international legal, tax, and mobility regulations.
  • Lead the setup, operation, and closure of branches and entities, working closely with project controllers and managers.
  • Collaborate with Finance, HR, and Legal teams to support smooth business operations.
  • Build strong relationships and deliver value to commercial and operational stakeholders.
  • Identify when local advisors are required and manage interactions regarding local requirements and tax audits.
