SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3+ years in geomembrane installation or 5+ years in civil construction
• Leadership experience (Foreman, Senior Welder, etc.)
• Strong plastic welding expertise (HDPE, LLDPE)
• Valid Driver’s License (manual), White Card
• IAGI or TWI certification (preferred)
• Medically fit to pass coal board medical
  Salary Range: AUD 80,000 – AUD 90,000 per annum (exclusive of superannuation)

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Leading Hand supports the Site Supervisor in daily operations and geomembrane installation while remaining hands-on. This role ensures work quality, crew coordination, and compliance with safety and technical standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee and participate in installation of HDPE/LLDPE geomembranes, GCLs, and geotextiles
• Supervise plastic welding using extrusion and wedge techniques
• Conduct destructive and non-destructive testing (vacuum, pressure, peel)
• Allocate tasks and support crew coordination
• Step in as acting Site Supervisor when required
• Promote WHS standards and liaise with inspectors

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Welder will support geosynthetic installations through both metal welding tasks and plastic welding of containment liners. Training in HDPE/LLDPE welding provided.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding for fabrication
• Execute plastic welding using hot wedge and extrusion methods
• Assist in liner deployment and seam preparation
• Collaborate with team on installations and safety compliance
