SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience as a Leading Hand or Senior Electrician on large-scale infrastructure or substation projects (500kV, 330kV, 275kV)
  • NSW Electrical License (or equivalent)
  • White Card and relevant High Risk Work Licenses (e.g., EWP, Working at Heights)
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety and compliance standards
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in live substation environments (highly regarded)
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Leading Hand (Electrical) to join our Bannaby site team. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership capabilities and hands-on experience in high-voltage substation electrical infrastructure projects.
You will be responsible for coordinating and supervising electrical crews, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of works in line with project specifications and timelines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and oversee daily operations of electrical trades and labour on-site
  • Interpret and execute electrical plans, drawings, and specifications
  • Ensure compliance with WHS standards, SWMS, and site protocols
  • Support installation, testing, and commissioning of HV and LV systems
  • Liaise with supervisors, engineers, and subcontractors to meet milestones
  • Mentor apprentices and junior team members
  • Maintain accurate records of progress, materials, safety and quality checks
  • Allocate daily tasks, monitor progress, and report back to supervisors, engineers or project managers.
  • Provide on-the-job training and performance feedback for team members.
  • Assist with material planning, ordering, and stock control.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues promptly.
