UGL is the lead electrical contractor delivering preventative and corrective maintenance, along with minor project works, across the University of Queensland. This is a long-term, stable leadership opportunity supporting one of Brisbane’s largest and most diverse institutional asset portfolios. We are seeking an experienced Leading Hand Electrician to coordinate and deliver electrical maintenance activities across the St Lucia campus. You will lead a team across a diverse asset portfolio including: Commercial buildings Laboratories and research facilities Sporting precincts and infrastructure Campus-wide electrical systems This is a hands-on leadership role in a structured environment with consistent workflow and long-term stability. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate day-to-day activities of electricians on site Allocate work, monitor productivity and ensure quality outcomes Provide technical oversight, troubleshooting and fault diagnosis Maintain compliance with electrical standards and safety requirements Liaise with supervisors and client representatives Contribute hands-on to maintenance and minor works About You Minimum 3+ years’ experience as a Leading Hand or Supervisor Proven ability to lead, coordinate and manage trades onsite Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capability Experience working across commercial or industrial environments MS Excel – Basic Experience using a workflow management system Why Join UGL – UQ Contract?
