Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking Leading Hand Fitters to join our Thiess Western Region Maintenance hub located in Hazelmere, working a 7/7 roster, rotating dayshift and nightshift. The Maintenance Hub is designed to support repairs and refurbish a variety of Mining Equipment and Components within Thiess and subsidiary internal Asset refurbishment requirements as well as external key Tier 1 mining customers.
With a strong pipeline of machine refurbishments including major component changes on a fleet of CAT 793F’s, this position also offers a great working atmosphere with potential to grow your career into any aspect of maintenance and asset management within the Thiess group.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Lead, coach and mentor the maintenance crew and follow directives of managers and supervisors.
  • Assist crews to effectively meet daily safety, equipment reliability and maintenance compliance to plan targets for the project.
  • The disassembly, inspection and assembly of large-scale mobile mining equipment components in accordance with OEM maintenance system documentation & specifications
  • Source technical information from the relevant available reference manuals, technical bulletins, and computer-based systems.
  • Maintaining the workshop area to a high standard of housekeeping & organisation
  • Working within a dedicated team to deliver a high level of workmanship
