Description Summary: Responsible for the final inspection of finished goods, to ensure the quality of product meets the production specification detailed by work instructions. Inspector will also inspect in-process production to ensure quality during and at each production station. Separation and Documentation of conforming and non-conforming parts. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Verify finished goods meet production specifications as detailed by router, drawings, and inspection instructions Ensure all required process operations have been performed on the product. Complete visual inspection for areas such as – good bends, braze joints, copper size, tube angles, caps. Measure parts using various measurement tools - pin gauges, tape measures, calipers, etc. Conduct internal quality inspections on a regular basis Perform leak testing on finished goods Reject parts that do not fulfill customer needs and expectations. Communicate with appropriate personnel. Document pass or fail findings in daily inspection log. Work with Quality Team/Ops/Engineering to correct problem (print issues, tolerances, part issues). Segregate non-conforming material and/or parts from usable material / parts by following the non-conforming material procedure. Document information regarding non-conformance of products, materials, parts, processes, daily production quality, root cause analyses and quality trends. Assist Quality team with executing internal/external Corrective Action Reports by investigating and determining corrective actions for non-conforming product to prevent repetitive failures of product. Prioritize workload to ensure customer demands are met. Schedule Regular: Sunday - Thursday 10:00 pm - 6:00 am Training: Monday - Friday 600 am - 2:30 pm Requirements Knowledge & Skills Basic understanding of print reading, tolerances, and the use of a wide variety of measuring instruments. Strong organizational and written/verbal communications skills. Person must be able to work with and communicate with all levels within the organization. Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent Experience in quality control/inspection within a manufacturing environment preferred. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The position involves walking and lifting, up to 50 pounds throughout the shift.
Responsibilities
