Boeing, Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) is seeking motivated, talented Lead Lean Process Engineer to join the Precision Engagement Systems (PES) team located in Saint Charles, MO.
As a part of the Space, Intelligence and Weapon Systems (SIWS) organization, Precision Engagement Systems (PES) is a dynamic and growing team with leadership that is focused on attracting and developing top talent in support of critical missions on Direct Attack (DA) and Cruise Missiles Systems (CMS) programs. Connected to our customers’ missions, we deliver unique capability through our exceptional talent. The programs we support in Saint Charles, MO include Direct Attack weapons (JDAM, SDB, MOP, HAAWC and associated derivatives) and Cruise Missiles (SLAM ER, Harpoon and development weapons) utilized on various military aircraft, some ground-based platforms, and other future contract awards.
In this position you will touch all Direct Attack and Cruise Missile System Programs, working closely with engineering, finance, and lean organizations to mature our business unit’s Lean program. You will be responsible for maturing the framework that enables our workforce to “Think Lean,” identify opportunities, execute, and document the value created for our internal and external stakeholders. You will mentor others through their projects, develop new mentors, while also leading larger initiatives for the business. In this role, you will drive culture throughout the business unit while engraining Lean methodologies into day-to-day work.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • Lead (Level 4) typically requires 9 or more years’ related engineering work experience or an equivalent combination of education and engineering experience. (e.g. Master+7 years’ related work experience, or PhD+4 years’ related work experience)
  • Experience leading improvement projects to achieve significant, realized cost savings
  • Experience mentoring Lean or Six Sigma project teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • 5 or more years’ experience leading technical projects
  • 5 or more years’ experience leading Lean or Six Sigma projects & programs
  • Formal Lean or Six Sigma Training & Certification (e.g. Lean Expert / Six Sigma Black Belt)

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Required
