Description

Position Summary
The Lean Process Improvement Engineer is responsible for analyzing manufacturing and business processes to identify inefficiencies and implement lean methodologies that drive continuous improvement, waste reduction, and enhanced operational efficiency. This role plays a key part in supporting a culture of lean thinking and operational excellence across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead and facilitate Lean Six Sigma and Kaizen events focused on reducing waste, improving process flow, and increasing productivity.
· Conduct time studies, process mapping, root cause analysis, and value stream mapping.
· Identify process bottlenecks and recommend solutions using lean tools such as 5S, Standard Work, Kanban, SMED, and Visual Management.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and ensure sustainable results.
· Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact of improvement initiatives.
· Train and mentor employees in lean principles and problem-solving techniques.
· Document and standardize improved processes and procedures.
· Support plant or business unit strategic goals by identifying opportunities for cost reduction and quality enhancement.
· Prepare reports and presentations for leadership to communicate results and recommendations.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
· 2–5 years of experience in a process improvement, manufacturing, or engineering role.
· Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred.
· Strong knowledge of lean tools and methodologies.
· Proficient in data analysis, project management, and statistical problem solving.
· Experience with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Excellent communication, teamwork, and facilitation skills.
· Ability to lead change and influence others without direct authority.
Preferred Skills
· Experience in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.
· Familiarity with ISO or other quality management systems.
· Strong presentation and training development skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
