ABOUT US:

The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) delivers a justice and community safety system that works to build a safer, fairer and stronger Victoria. The People Safety, Culture and Communications (PSCC) group provides a range of services across the employee lifecycle to ensure the department has a workforce that is flexible, highly skilled, safe and representative of the community it serves. PSCC is responsible for human resources, payroll, recruitment, occupational health and safety, industrial relations, learning and development, diversity and inclusion and employment regulations.
The Transformation, Development and Capability business unit is responsible for transformation and learning and development to support employees.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certificate or Diploma in business, information technology or similar.
  • Current Working with Children Check (WWWC) card is required and will need to be provided prior to commencement of employment by the applicant. Currency will need to be maintained by the employee for the period of employment.
  • A current driver’s licence is required due to the need to work across different locations.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Advisor, Learning and Capability is a member of the Department of Justice and Community Safety within People, Safety, Culture and Communications team. The Advisor, Learning and Capability is responsible for the effective governance, reporting and data for the L&C team. A current driver’s licence is required due to the need to work across different locations.

Some of your other duties will include:

  • Conducting coordination, reporting and analysis of training activities including attendance, skills gaps and participant and leader’s feedback.
  • Analysing data to identify patterns, strengths, and areas requiring improvement through detailed analyses and present findings to leadership.
  • Conducting weekly, monthly and governance reporting to ensure staff are trained and competent to work in various Corrections Victoria settings.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Proficiency in a range of software including Excel, PowerBI, learning management systems (LMS), ideally Nexus, and other software.
  • Advanced skills in analysing training evaluation data to identify trends, gaps, and areas for improvement with the ability to create reports and provide actionable insights for enhancing training delivery.
  • Experience in compiling detailed compliance reports, with the ability to monitor and communicate training gaps, risks, and operational safety concerns
