JOB DESCRIPTION:

As the Learning and Development Coordinator, you will play a key role in shaping and supporting our workforce development efforts. You’ll be responsible for ensuring our employees have access to the training, tools, and resources they need to grow and succeed. This person will need to work from the Magna office. Remote work is not an option.
At Whitaker Construction, we believe that investing in people is investing in the future. We are seeking a Learning and Development (L&D) Coordinator who is passionate about empowering employees through impactful training and development opportunities. If you are highly organized, tech-savvy, and thrive in a collaborative environment, we’d love to hear from you.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Communications, Organizational Behavior, or a related field; or 1–2 years of relevant L&D or training support experience.
  • Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Professional Skills:
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate with team members and external partners.
  • Comfortable working under pressure and managing multiple priorities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear. Specific vision abilities include close vision.
  • Successful completion of a drug and background screening is required.
Responsibilities

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administer and manage our Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring courses, events, and communications are current and accurate.
  • Coordinate and organize training programs, events, classrooms, and schedules—making sure each session is set up for success.
  • Track registrations, attendance, assessments, and training completion, maintaining detailed and accurate records.
  • Assist in designing and developing training materials, procedure manuals, and guides.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for training requests and provide support when challenges arise.
  • Gather feedback from classes, instructors, and vendors to ensure training meets requirements and compliance standards.
