LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT TEAM LEADER

WB Power Services is looking for a dynamic and experienced Learning & Development Team Leader to join our growing HR team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about people development and ready to take the next step in their career by leading our L&D function during a period of significant business growth.
WB Power Services is a nationwide leader in generator services, offering maintenance, sales, hire, and bespoke power solutions across the UK. As a family-run business, we pride ourselves on our values-driven culture, delivering industry-leading standards while fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace.
We support critical infrastructure including healthcare, water and data centres—providing both temporary and permanent power installations.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

As Learning & Development Team Leader, you’ll oversee and manage the coordination of all training activity across the business, ensuring our workforce is compliant, capable, and continually developing. You’ll lead the L&D function, support strategic growth, and work closely with managers to identify and meet training needs across all departments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the Learning & Development function, supporting one direct report.
  • Oversee the training portal, ensuring all employee records and qualifications are up to date.
  • Manage training compliance by tracking expiry dates, arranging refresher courses, and ensuring certification is completed and recorded.
  • Lead the planning and delivery of both mandatory and developmental training across the business.
  • Liaise with external training providers, obtain quotes, secure approvals, and book courses.
  • Coordinate security clearance checks and manage site access certifications (e.g. ECS, CSCS, EUSR).
  • Support line managers with training recoupment documentation and ensure relevant paperwork is completed and filed correctly.
  • Produce regular reports for leadership to support strategic decisions.
  • Work closely with the wider HR team on projects and cross-functional admin when required.
